artist's statement

Although aware of environmental, social & political problems, my work refers to these issues obliquely rather than with overt comment. I prefer to draw attention to the significance of nature in our lives and to celebrate its beauty.
As an extension of general environmental concerns I have a commitment to safer printmaking & enjoy using techniques such as monotype, polymer plate & metal plate etching (copper etched with ferric chloride or aluminium & zinc etched with copper sulphate). The computer is my favourite tool for composition & image manipulation.
