artist's statement

The techniques of printmaking provide many ways to communicate ideas & develop imagery. Every aspect is intensely challenging, from the initial concept to the choice of printmaking technique, from the making of the plate to the proofing, from the paper choice to the range of colours used.
As an extension of my environmental concerns, I have a commitment to safer printmaking. I am deeply concerned about the degradation of our environment and hope that by drawing attention to the significance of nature in our lives and celebrating its beauty that I may be able to counteract, to a small degree, the idea of nature as a resource to be plundered.
